Attendance!
At early ages, parents help introduce their children to sports and activities, and instill participation. However, as much as they may encourage and athlete to a specific sport only YOU (the athlete) makes the decision to become an Athlete.
(Not your coach, not your peers, not your friends).
Some athletes make a commitment for a sport as early as 10 years old, sometimes it does not happen until college, and many wait until they are an adult. Whatever the age, once a commitment is made, improvement will quadruple within months.
The more days you train, the better. Fewer days equals slower improvement. Valley Dive suggests a minimum of 2 Hour workouts, 3-6 days per week, depending upon your goals.
